Take Back your Health
Functional Medicine is an integrative health care approach, based on the newest cutting edge research findings in medicine, biochemistry, genetics and technology.
It seeks to identify and address the root causes of disease. Instead of asking ‘What drug matches up with this disease?’, Functional Medicine asks the questions ‘Why do you have this problem in the first place?’ , ‘What can we do to restore function?’, ‘What can we do to optimize health and wellbeing in the long run’, and ‘What can we do to prevent and slow down ageing and age-related conditions?’. It considers the unique interactions in the patient’s history, physiology and lifestyle that can lead to chronic illness and/or faster ageing, along with the unique genetic makeup and 'epigenetic' factors like hormones, neurotransmitters (‘brain chemicals’ like serotonin), low grade inflammation, nutrient deficiencies, heavy metal toxicities, social and emotional state.

How does it work?
Fill in our Health Questionnaire and email along with any previous lab tests from the comfort of your own home prior to the consultation.
Mirthe will spend time before and after your visit to review all paperwork, intake forms, and past lab work, put them into the Functional Medicine ranges.
During an initial consultation we will talk through your health history, concerns and goals and define a dietary, neutraceutical and lifestyle treatment strategy you can get started with straight away. If necessary, we will order in some tests to assess further.
This usually lasts between 60-75 minutes.
You will receive a summary of the discussed treatment strategy within 24 hours of the Initial Consultation for your convenience.
LAB TESTING (OPTIONAL BUT HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)
Depending on your health concerns, goals (and budget), you may now go and get further testing done to refine the treatment strategy.
FOLLOW UP consultation
During a follow up consultation we will discuss your lab results and further refine the treatment protocol.
